The Italian media has weighed in on Napoli’s pursuit of Sheffield United defender Anel Ahmedhodzic in light of recent rumors.
Director of TuttoMercatoWeb Niccolo Ceccarini spoke with Radio Marte today. He also stated, as cited by TuttoNapoli, that signing the 24-year-old won’t be a simple feat.
It was stated that Napoli should prepare to cover the cost of Ahmedhodzic because Sheffield United isn’t anticipated to haggle over the amount.

“I believe there are two names: one is Theate, a left-footed centre-back, and the other we have is that of the Sheffield United defender, Ahmedhodzic, who costs around €20m. And when you fish in England they don’t give you any discounts. I don’t know which Napoli will take,” said Ceccarini.
Ahmedhozic has made 14 appearances for Sheffield United this season and is still a vital member of the Blades’ roster despite his injuries.
Napoli may have some challenges since the Premier League team is requesting even more for the center-back, who is presently rated by Transfermarkt at €18 million.
The Serie A team was in dire need of reinforcements in January and was negotiating various loans and low-cost moves, but acquiring Ahmedhozic now would be a significant financial commitment for them.
There is no need for such a transaction because the Blades have a contract with the player that covers him well into 2026.
