Michail Antonio of West Ham gave his assessment of Callum Wilson’s current market value as a striker for Newcastle United, and it left Wilson speechless.

In the most recent podcast episode, the pair talked about their respective current transfer values.

With his contract expiring this summer, Michail Antonio acknowledged that Lum Wilson is now worth more money.

Wilson wasn’t pleased to hear that the West Ham player thinks the Newcastle striker is worth between £10 million and £12 million.
In the range of £10–12 million, I would estimate. He continues to score goals in and around England. That adds several million to it!

Wilson, however, felt Antonio would fetch a significantly higher price and was not at all impressed with his decision.

“No respect, you know! You ain’t replacing me for £10 million,” the Newcastle star said. “On the field or off the field. It’s impossible!”

In September 2020, Wilson paid approximately £20 million to join Newcastle.

The 31-year-old has scored 26 goals in 102 games for the Magpies, demonstrating his reliability as a goal scorer.

Nonetheless, Antonio’s valuation seems reasonable given that he only has 18 months left on his present contract.

Given that Newcastle now only has two excellent options up front, he is definitely worth more to them.

Wilson’s current contract at St. James’ Park expires in a few months, therefore it would be surprising if Newcastle received a payment near to the £20 million they spent to get him.
