According to LDH, Charleroi and Watford are in talks about Matthew Pollock’s signing. The 22-year-old, who played on loan with Abderdeen the previous season, has only made eight appearances in the Championship for the Hornets this year. The parties are negotiating a loan agreement for the defender.

Pollock moved from Grimsby to Watford back in the summer of 2021. For the latter, he made 58 appearances and netted four goals. Since joining Watford, he has only made 13 appearances, with one additional loan spell to Cheltenham in the 2021–2022 season. While on loan, he made 39 appearances and scored three goals.

New reinforcements are desperately needed for Charleroi. Due to goal differential, the team is sitting narrowly above the relegation zone when the league resumes this coming weekend. With just five victories in 20 games, they are tied for first place with newly promoted RWDM. Their first matchback will be against Antwerp, the current champions, away.
