Denver Hume, a former left-back for Sunderland, is drawing interest from League One and League Two teams in an attempt to end his ordeal in Portsmouth.

Hume Sunderland signed a £200k contract with Portsmouth in 2022, but the League One team put him on the transfer list last summer because to injury concerns. During the match against Leyton Orient in November of last year, head coach John Mousinho gave the left-back his first professional Pompey appearance in seven months.

However, important Portsmouth insiders predict that Hume’s Fratton Park exit will happen by the conclusion of the January transfer season. With just six months remaining on his contract, Hume may depart permanently or on loan.

The News was informed by Chief Executive Andy Cullen that “the situation with Denver is ongoing.” Everyone would benefit from trying to have that resolved as the window closes. We’re attempting to see if we can all work with the options that are being offered.

“It has to be right for Denver, it has to be right for the football club, if that happens we will all work together to make that work. There are some options, there’s some interest from clubs, but it’s about being right for everybody to make it work. It would be wrong for me to say it’s this club or that club interested.

“As much as it’s about the club, it’s about Denver and what’s best for him and the next stage of his career. He is out of contract at the end of the season anyway, but he’s keen to play football now.”
