Arsenal has officially entered the competition to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, who has been linked to a move away from the team.

Arsenal will face competition from Manchester City and Liverpool for the skilled goalie, according to HITC Football.

Anthony Patterson, 23, is available for signing by any of the three Premier League clubs, since Sunderland is willing to let him leave. The goalkeeper is being highly sought after by Liverpool to replace Caoimhin Kelleher, who is anticipated to depart at the end of the current campaign.

Whether they can now compete with Arsenal is still up in the air.

Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya are already available to the Gunners. If they made the decision to get a new goalkeeper without having to sell someone, that would be very unexpected. If they choose to sell Ramsdale at the conclusion of the season, it will be intriguing to watch. This season, his lack of playing time has caused him to suffer.

For the young goalie, a move to Arsenal or Liverpool would be a significant step forward in his career and an intriguing chance. At a major club, he will aim to further his growth with plenty of playing time.

To start for Arsenal and Liverpool, though, he would have to contend with players like David Raya and Alisson Becker. It is still to be seen if the Sunderland keeper can push his way into the starting lineup despite the fact that both goalkeepers have excelled for their respective teams.
