Rangers’ Rıdvan Yılmaz wants to leave Ibrox in the winter market because he isn’t pleased with his role under Philippe Clement, according to a report published earlier today by Fanatik journalist Gökmen Özcan.

Hellas Verona is the most serious possibility for the 22-year-old, according to Özcan, who also said Galatasaray’s approach to sign him didn’t work out. The most recent reports from Turkey state that the Istanbul club is still interested in the Rangers player.

According to TRT Spor, the Turkish champions are interested in the left-back and want to sign him on a loan with the option to buy in order to remove him from Philippe Clement’s squad.

Sabah, who has more information regarding Galatasaray’s pursuit of the fullback, supports this assertion.

The Turkey international’s deal at Ibrox lasts until 2027 and recent claims from Scotland have stated that Rangers will sell him for €4m. Sabah relay that and then state Galatasaray are pushing for a loan deal instead.

Galatasaray is ‘keen’ to bolster its left-back lineup this month, with Yılmaz at the top of their list of targets.
The Rangers player, who is willing to leave Philippe Clement’s team this month in order to increase his prospects of representing his nation at the Euros, has been persuaded by the Turkish club’s “insistent attitude,” according to Sabah.

There is no indication in either of the two reports about Rangers’ willingness to let Yılmaz depart Ibrox on a loan.

As it stands, the Turkish perspective appears excessively hopeful. There’s been complaints that he doesn’t play enough minutes, even though he obviously does, and Rangers have no justification for accepting a loan arrangement.
