In an attempt to maintain their status as the finest team in the division and earn promotion in a matter of months, Leicester City is keeping an eye on the transfer market.

Stefano Sensi is a prospective target for Leicester City, who have been aggressively preparing a deal for the Inter Milan midfielder in recent weeks. The Championship team is trying to get a deal done because the 28-year-old isn’t getting much playing time at San Siro.

The player is in limbo, though, since Inter Milan is willing to sell and the Foxes have not yet made an offer, according to the Italian daily TUTTO mercato WEB. In the event that a move to the King Power cannot be finalized, Leicester City will consider other options.

In light of the uncertainty surrounding the Sensi trade, Enzo Maresca’s team should take into consideration these three central midfielders.

Sasa Lukic

The 42-cap Serbia international has played 12 times for Fulham this season, but only four of those have been starts, and three of those were the opening three games of the season, showing he is down the pecking order as things stand.

He has found playing time hard to come by, and with Leicester City targeting an experienced midfielder, Sasa Lukic could be available on a short-term loan until the end of the season to get them over the line or even look for a permanent exit this month with Leicester City a promising destination.

Jairo Riedewald

Jairo Riedewald has made just two starts in four outings for Crystal Palace, thus he may also be seeking to leave the team owing to a lack of playing time. To gain some crucial playing time, the 27-year-old might drop down to the Championship, and Leicester City might be a formidable opponent.

If Riedewald decides to leave Palace, he will probably get playing time at the King Power because the Foxes are in a position to get promoted. Additionally, a Premier League return is imminent, so this could give him a chance to establish himself in the highest league after receiving little opportunity at Palace.

Jakub Moder

A third and final Premier League midfielder who could be a solid alternative to Sensi would be Brighton and Hove Albion’s Jakub Moder. The 24-year-old often plays the role more associated with a creative central midfielder, and he can even play out wide on the left to provide cover.

An injury has kept him out of action for the majority of the campaign but has started to be re-integrated back into the squad and so could be sent out on loan with Leicester City potential beneficiaries.
