After considering a move for Santiago Gimenez’s Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, Tottenham Hotspur has been keeping a close eye on the player.

Santiago Gimenez may emerge as Tottenham Hotspur’s prime target in January following their extensive scouting of the Feyenoord forward.

Currently, Son Heung-min is in exceptional form leading the Tottenham attack, reducing the immediate need for another striker. Nonetheless, Tottenham continues to be linked with various strikers, including prolific Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy.

Tottenham has shown interest in Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord

The club’s admiration for Gimenez dates back several months, with a particular desire to acquire him during the summer transfer window.

Gimenez, the Mexican international, has been on fire this season, bagging an impressive 15 goals in just 11 appearances, making him a highly sought-after talent across Europe. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham is keen on Gimenez and could be prepared to pay around £39 million for his services.

Romano explains that Tottenham’s initial interest in Gimenez was observed during their scouting of Feyenoord with the intention of potentially appointing their manager, Arne Slot. Although the deal for Slot didn’t materialize, their interest in Gimenez persisted.

Tottenham intends to maintain their pursuit of Gimenez and may explore a deal either in the upcoming January transfer window or the summer.

Fabrizio Romano stated, “We know very well that many top clubs around Europe are keeping an eye on the boy… something around €45 million (£39 million) could be the right fee to make it happen. Let’s see if in the January window or in the summer window; it depends on Feyenoord, more than on the player.”

He also mentioned Tottenham’s prior interest in Gimenez, stating, “You will remember that Tottenham were considering to appoint Arne Slot as manager early in the summer… they were following Feyenoord, and… they saw that Santi Gimenez is absolutely a very good striker.”

In conclusion, Gimenez is a player of significant interest for Tottenham, as well as many other European clubs, and decisions regarding his future are expected in the coming months. As of now, there have been no official statements from individuals close to the player, with only his father providing insights.

Romanos Perspective: Tottenham’s Fortuitous Discovery of Their Ideal Striker

It appears that Tottenham didn’t originally set out to watch Gimenez when observing Feyenoord. Instead, their focus was on analyzing the team’s playing style under Arne Slot, who led Feyenoord to an Eredivisie title in the previous season.

Although the deal with Slot couldn’t be finalized, Tottenham’s visits to the Netherlands might not have been in vain, as they seem to have stumbled upon a potential gem in Gimenez. He not only boasts an impressive goal-scoring record but also exhibits the qualities and potential of a versatile striker.

Gimenez possesses strength and speed, displays confidence in taking on defenders, and demonstrates excellent link-up play. While Tottenham fans may recall the Vincent Janssen experience when signing another Eredivisie striker, Gimenez appears to have the potential to become a superstar, and Tottenham might just secure Slot’s star player.
