TalkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has acknowledged that his preseason predictions on Tottenham Hotspur were incorrect.

Prior to the 2023–24 Premier League season, Harry Kane, the former striker for Aston Villa, shared his predictions following his departure to Bayern Munich.

Following the departure of star player Kane, the 37-year-old predicted that Spurs would place eighth or ninth. Nonetheless, Ange Postecoglou’s team is tied for first place in the Premier League following the second international break, and Agbonlahor is all praise for the new Spurs manager.

Agbonlahor’s Take on Tottenham and Postecoglou

During a video discussion with TalkSPORT in anticipation of the top flight’s return this weekend, Agbonlahor openly acknowledged a significant misjudgment regarding Spurs’ performance this season.

He stated, ‘I have to admit I was mistaken. I previously suggested that Spurs might finish around eighth or ninth due to the loss of 30 Premier League goals from the previous season. However, this season, they have secured victories with narrow margins and distributed goals across the team.’

Only three Premier League teams—Aston Villa, Brighton, and Newcastle—have scored more goals than Postecoglou’s team thus far this season, despite the loss of club legend Harry Kane this summer.

Can Tottenham Sustain Their Winning Streak?

The international break might have disrupted Tottenham and Postecoglou’s momentum, following two successive triumphs over Liverpool and Luton Town. Nonetheless, they are poised for a shot at securing a third consecutive league victory on Monday night, hosting Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In my assessment, Spurs boast a surplus of quality compared to Marco Silva’s squad and are likely to comfortably clinch another three points in front of their capacity crowd.
