In response to the news that Michael Beale has been fired by Rangers, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers praises him as “outstanding.”

Following a terrible start to the season and a loss to Aberdeen at Ibrox, the Light Blues’ board decided to fire the 43-year-old on Sunday night. They had previously suffered defeats to Kilmarnock on the first day of the season, Celtic in the first Old Firm derby of the year in Govan, and PSV in the Champions League play-off round.

As part of the significant revamp at the club thus far, performances and the summer hiring process came into focus, with only Jack Butland receiving pass grades from those who checked-in. Since then, Steven Davis has been appointed as the team’s temporary manager. This weekend, the squad travels to St. Mirren before the international break, and the search for the team’s new permanent manager is gaining momentum.

On Sunday night, Rodgers was asked about the major news and responded, “I’m always upset when any manager loses their job, no matter what club they work at. Celtic or Rangers management positions come with a lot of strain.

“I am sure Michael will go away and reflect on his time here and no doubt he will he come back in again, he is an outstanding young coach and manager. “He will go away and reflect on the pressure he was under and the expectation and the stress that this job can bring, and he will learn from it and go on and get another job and make a success of it, I am pretty sure.

Following in the footsteps of his coaching mentor Ange Postecoglou, who helped Celtic achieve the treble last season with the help of two Hampden victories over Beale’s team, Muscat, a former player for Rangers, guided Yokohama F Marinos to the J-League championship last season.
