Outgoing Rangers manager Michael Beale has sent a message on Instagram after his sacking at Ibrox.

The likeable English coach has been relieved of his duties in Govan after a disastrous start to the Premiership season.

The club had lost three of its first seven games, so Beale knew the end was near after the weekend’s 3-1 loss to Aberdeen.

Couple this with the manager’s failure to earn a spot in the Champions League, and the Rangers board was suddenly left with no choice due to the toxic environment at the club.

The departing Rangers manager has finally broken his silence on Instagram, urging fans to support interim manager Steven Davis.

The message reads:

“Thank you Rangers FC to everyone behind the scenes at the training ground and Ibrox, to the board, staff, fans and all the players.

“I will always follow and support the club from afar and wish you every success.

“Now is the time for everyone to unite fully behind Steven Davis and the team in the coming games.

“There is still so much to play for this season and I have a strong belief in this group of players.

“Thank you and good luck. MB.”

Outgoing Rangers manager Michael Beale break silence

Having replaced Giovanni van Bronckhorst under a year ago, Michael Beale leaves Rangers as the 18th permanent manager of the club.

Attentions are now firmly on who the Gers might look to appoint as his successor but the club are clear they will bide their time for the right man.

Rangers Hall of Famer Steven Davis is set to take charge alongside ex-midfielder Alex Rae in the meantime with the focus on a trip to Cyprus to face AEL Limassol in the Europa League.

The Gers then face a tough trip to face on-form St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership before an international break which represents a window of opportunity to get a new management team in the door.
