Maximilian Beier is reportedly hesitant to join Brentford, with the TSG Hoffenheim striker alert that Liverpool are interested in signing him.

The Bundesliga youngster has been one of the revelations of the season in Germany, with Beier a potential outside to lead the line for Julian Naglesmann’s side at Euro 2024 this summer.

The £25m-rated attacker has attracted plenty of Premier League interest his month, with Liverpool reportedly keen on Beier as Brentford have now joined the race.

However, according to journalist Christian Falk, the Hoffenheim forward is not ready to jump at the chance to join the Bees, with Beier ‘aware’ that big English clubs, like Liverpool, are tracking him.

With the Reds expected to dip into the transfer market in the summer for a new attacker, Beier could be the man Liverpool opt to sign as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah in the squad.

However, with Jurgen Klopp now leaving the club at the end of this season, Liverpool’s transfer plans could be totally altered, with Beier’s potential move to Anfield now on hold.

News of Klopp’s pending departure has send shockwaves around the footballing world, and the decision could cause some big problems for Liverpool heading into the summer.

A number of targets who had been lined could be scrapped as Liverpool now begin a hunt for a new manager, meaning Beier could fall between the cracks with the Reds.

Indeed, with Liverpool in need of a new forward no matter who is appointed this summer, Beier could survive the transfer target cull in the coming weeks.

Yet given how young the forward is, there’s every chance that Liverpool’s new manager could favour a more experienced attacker this summer, especially if Mohamed Salah departs for Saudi Arabia.
