Leicester City hopes to maintain Callum, a Manchester City loanee Doyle permanently, according to a recent story from The Athletic.

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Leicester City, quickly took use of his connections with Manchester City over the summer. Doyle, a left-footed defender, was loaned to the King Power for the 2023–2024 season.

However, the season-long loan arrangement wasn’t reached without efforts to reach a long-term accord. A prior article from The Athletic detailed the discussions over buyout and permanent deals, but in the end, a loan was signed to guarantee a speedy move.

Doyle, 20, had an equally fantastic debut for Leicester City, making an immediate impression as a left back. But he sustained a knee injury, and he’s still getting better.

Despite the injury, the Foxes want to make Doyle’s loan permanent, according to a recent story from The Athletic.

Is a deal with Leicester City imminent?

Doyle may need to prove himself in Leicester City’s starting lineup before speculation of a permanent transfer picks up steam once more. But a lot of people will support him if he can perform at the level he did earlier in the season, and supporters will soon be clamoring for him to return permanently.

Maresca’s connection to Manchester City could be beneficial, and should the Foxes advance from the Championship, they should be in a stronger position to close a deal this time.

A sale of Doyle might be another opportunity for the Premier League’s biggest clubs, who have previously shown that they are willing to part with elite young players in order to help balance the books. That would undoubtedly help Leicester City, maybe enabling them to hold onto the services of a talented young player and an outstanding loan player.
