Despite Yves Bissouma’s dismissal, Tottenham persevered to defeat Nottingham Forest last night and win another game.

After receiving a red card for the second time this season, Bissouma will now miss the next four games as Tottenham’s lack of discipline threatened to cost them against Forest once more.

It’s starting to become a bit of a problem for Spurs. Ange Postecoglou can ill-afford to lose players to suspension on top of the ones missing due to injury. Bissouma has once again followed in the footsteps of people like Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie.
Speaking about Tottenham’s seeming inability to handle circumstances, Gary Neville said on Sky Sports last night that he believes there are just two players in the complete starting lineup who seem to be composed.

Son and Ben Davies

“The one thing he has got to control is a discipline problem. They make some really reckless challenges. They are mad at times on the pitch and they don’t need to be. There are only a couple of players in the team who have real composure. That’s Ben Davies and Son. The others all have a bit in them where you think what are you doing?,” Neville said

Ange needs to address Tottenham’s disciplinary issues

It’s not that the players are intentionally causing harm or harboring ill intentions. The main problem lies in losing key players during crucial moments, and this trend could prove costly over the course of the season.

Bissouma’s recent red card was another unnecessary incident. While a split-second decision could have changed the outcome, he placed his leg at a risky height, leaving officials with a difficult call to make.

Gary Neville accurately points out Tottenham’s predicament, and Ange Postecoglou must take charge of this situation. The team is likely to suffer significant consequences, especially with Bissouma now set to miss months of action, considering his participation in the AFCON in January.
