Tottenham’s newest injury news and return dates ahead of the Fulham game include Bentancur, Johnson, and Sessegnon

Premier League managers are always concerned about the international break. With new injury concerns, everyone will be expecting to see their key players return to the training ground fit and healthy.

Spurs hold a slight advantage over their competitors at the top of the table, with their next Premier League match against Fulham on Monday night. It will be the gameweek’s final encounter, with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool all playing during the weekend.

Wales manager Rob Page left the Welsh striker out of the team to protect his health after he suffered a thigh injury against Arsenal in the North London Derby. He’s the most likely of the injured players for Postecoglou to recall after the international break, but nothing has been confirmed. What has been said: “Our communication with Tottenham has been first-rate.” It is all about mutual respect.

“Both managers want a talented player fit so it’s about working together. I’m not going to insist that he has to come away and we’re going to play him, jeopardise his safety and health.

“I wouldn’t do that. But they also understand the importance of our games. We’ve had great conversations with them, but ultimately his injury will dictate whether he can meet up or not.”

1. Rodrigo Bentancur

The Uruguayan midfielder faced a significant setback near the end of the previous season due to a serious knee injury. While he has been seen in training, engaging in one-on-one drills and gym workouts, his return isn’t anticipated until at least mid-November.

Official remarks: “Ryan [Sessegnon] and Rodrigo are still a fair way from returning.”

Potential return date: Aston Villa (H) – Sunday, November 26

Ryan Sessegnon

Another standout yet to make an appearance under Postecoglou, Sessegnon is recuperating from a thigh injury and is likely to return around the same time as Bentancur.

Official remarks: “Ryan (Sessegnon) and Rodrigo are still a fair way from returning.”

Potential return date: Aston Villa (H) – Sunday, November 26

Manor Solomon

The Israeli winger had to undergo knee surgery following a recent training injury, which will keep him sidelined for several months. This setback is a blow to Postecoglou’s side, as Solomon had seamlessly integrated into the team, contributing two assists in the 5-2 victory over Burnley.

Official statement: “Solomon sustained a meniscus injury to his right knee during training and promptly underwent surgery.”

Potential return date: Manchester United (A) – Saturday, January 13

Ivan Perisic

The seasoned full-back suffered a severe ACL injury last month, and his chances of returning before the end of the season are slim. It’s even possible that, if he does regain full fitness by May, he may not return until the next season.

Official statement: “Ivan has sustained a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in his right knee. The experienced Croatia international incurred the injury during non-contact training and will undergo surgery.”

Potential return date: June 2024

Alfie Whiteman

The teenager sustained a long-term injury in August and is unlikely to play for the team again this season.

What has been said: “Alfie has undergone surgery following an ankle injury sustained on pre-season tour.” He will now begin his rehabilitation with our medical experts, and a return date to training will be set in due course.”

Date of possible return: 2024
