The trialist was not left out as Ibrox faced Monaco in a B team game.

Yan Diomande of the Ivory Coast was given an opportunity to impress at Rangers today as part of their B team’s match against Monaco at Ibrox.

The youthful winger began for Rangers after several of the more well-known members of the B squad were rested ahead of the Ibrox club’s first-team meeting with St Mirren on Sunday ahead of the international break, with Steven Davis’ side sorely needing a win.

The Northern Irishman is still in command of the B squad, which was without Bailey Rice, Zak Lovelace, Johnly Yfeko, Ross McCausland, and Cole McKinnon, and it’s possible they’ll be put in the first team for tomorrow, albeit on the bench. They did, however, designate a trialist, who is thought to be Diomande, who impressed during the defeat to Monaco. The French squad won 3-1, with Paul Nsio scoring the sole goal for the host team.

He was a member of the AS Frenzi club that won the United Premier Soccer League title in America earlier this year, and he was also awarded tournament player of the year. The UPSL is considered the fourth division of American football, and the kid excelled with many of the teams comprised of U19 squads from MLS sides.
