West Ham and Tottenham are long-term targets. According to Football Insider, Conor Gallagher is set to begin contract talks with Chelsea.

Both London clubs were interested in signing the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window, but nothing came of it. Conor Gallagher has impressed Pochettino since the start of the 2023-24 season, according to Football Insider, and might potentially sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

In the absence of nominated skipper Reece James due to injury, the England international has even taken the armband in Chelsea’s recent Premier League games.

This development is a setback for the Blues’ London rivals, who may now be compelled to look for new objectives in 2024.

Gallagher’s current contract, which pays him a rumoured £50,000 a week, is set to end in June 2025. He has started every Chelsea game this season, with the exception of the Blues’ recent League Cup victory over Brighton.

The 23-year-old is also a regular for England, having been called up to the newest team, which will face Australia and Italy later this month. Gallagher has played nine times for the Three Lions, appearing in five of their previous six games as they prepare for the European Championships in Germany next year.

He made his Stamford Bridge debut last season after a loan spell at Crystal Palace the previous season, scoring three goals and assisting once in 45 games across all categories. The Premier League standout has made 106 appearances, scoring 13 goals and assisting on six occasions.
