Cesare Casadei, a young Italian sensation currently playing for Leicester City, is thought to have been ‘forced’ to join Chelsea.
The midfielder joined Chelsea from Inter Milan in 2022, and the London club first included him in their U21 team before loaning him out to Reading in January, where he made 15 appearances. Casadei was unable to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for this season, which allowed him to join Leicester City on loan.
Conterio feels the Chelsea-owned player has already demonstrated his readiness for the top level with the Italy U21 team and the Championship side; thus, the 20-year-old will be given a chance when he returns to Stamford Bridge.
“Inter let him slip away, only to continue the million-dollar search for an interpreter in the role this season,” the writer added of the player’s move to Chelsea. Has anyone from Serie A approached Casadei about a move to the Nerazzurri? No, Chelsea did it for a million dollars.”
