Jamie O’Hara has urged Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou to ‘get rid’ of one of his players following his performance in the North London Derby.

Spurs suffered a 3-2 defeat on Sunday, but it could’ve been considerably worse.

Postecoglou’s team was behind 3-0 at the break, and the score could have been much more embarrassing if Arsenal had actually gone for the kill rather than committing careless mistakes.

Though Mikel Arteta’s team would have undoubtedly given up another goal if it had been the old Arsenal, Tottenham should be commended for their efforts in the second half.

But Tottenham’s errors in the early half killed the game, since the Gunners are currently among the top teams in Europe.

As you may imagine, O’Hara was extremely unhappy with the outcome.

Jamie O’Hara asserts forcefully that Ben Davies of Tottenham

Just before the North London Derby, Tottenham suffered a devastating setback when they lost Destiny Udogie to a season-ending injury. Ange Postecoglou gave Spurs the option to start Ben Davies or Emerson Royal at left back, and the Welshman was selected.

Many had warned Davies that Bukayo Saka could cause him all kinds of issues prior to the game, and they were all right.

The Arsenal player doubled his team’s lead in the first half with a stunning strike, although it’s safe to say that Davies could have performed much better.

Speaking about the goal, Jamie O’Hara, a commentator and supporter of Tottenham, was incensed at Davies’ defensive play.

He has claimed that everyone knew what Saka was going to do when he got inside the box, even Davies, but his mistake made it easy for the Englishman to find the bottom corner.

On talkSPORT last night, O’Hara said: “We go 2-0 down, Ben Davies, shouldn’t be playing left-back but has to play left-back, he’s not good enough. We need to get rid.

“Show Saka on his right, show him away from the goal. You let him come in and just put one in the bottom corner. You know what he’s going to do. You know he’s going to do that.”

Ange Postecoglou could make unsurprising Ben Davies decision soon

Tottenham‘s recruitment has been really, really good over the last year or two.

The North Londoners have brought in the likes of Micky van de Ven, James Maddison and Destiny Udogie over the last two seasons, and they have all been success stories.

Tottenham are expected to strengthen their defence again this summer, and a player who can play on the left side of central defence as well as at left-back will be on the agenda.

If Spurs do bring in a player like that, that would likely bring an end to Ben Davies’ career at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) Wales international has been a great servant for the club, but he’s no longer at the top of the pecking order, and moving on would be the best thing for all parties.

We expect Ange Postecoglou to sell Davies in the upcoming summer transfer window. Leeds United have been linked with a move to sign him.
