“All wasn’t well”…claim about Rangers camp as Celtic embark on final title race run

There are five remaining Scottish Premiership games. One enormous Scottish Cup Final. The final month of the 2023–2024 season looks to be very intriguing.

Celtic has successfully positioned themselves going into the latter stretch of games.

Philippe Clement’s team was under pressure after a strong draw away to Rangers at Ibrox, and they eventually buckled against Ross County and Dundee.

The Bhoys of Brendan Rodgers lead the table by three points, but they are aware that they need to continue winning. There’s hardly much space for error, particularly with a huge derby at Celtic Park approaching.

Fortunately for Celtic, even the most ardent Rangers supporters and commentators have acknowledged that their downfall is not a passing fad.

Celtic and Rangers title race enters final phase

Ally McCoist, for example, reckons that their issues have been in the post for a while.

The high-profile pundit has pointed out their recent form is not a blip, but more of a trend. All is not well at Ibrox.

Ally McCoist never wants to see Celtic demoted and claims they missed Rangers during top flight absence

He told FlashScore: “The signs were there and I’ll tell you why. They lost to Motherwell at home (first game in March) and their performance was very poor. But they got away with that because Celtic lost at Hearts in the same round so that was kind of glossed over.

“I could tell that all wasn’t well in their camp, but to be honest, I couldn’t see a collapse of that size coming. With the draw against Celtic they’ve only taken five points out of a possible 15.”

Celtic can’t be complacent

Like everyone else, however, even plenty of Bhoys fans, McCoist believes there’s still an unexpected twist or turn ahead.

He continued: “I really don’t think it’s finished. The one thing that will have to happen, I think, is that Rangers will have to go to Celtic and win. But looking at the other teams, a side like Kilmarnock are doing really, really well and both Rangers and Celtic have dropped points already against them.”

Even though the Rangers’ current problems have been humorous, Celtic fans shouldn’t get too comfortable. The semi-final matchup with Aberdeen last weekend served as strong proof of that.

Even though the Bhoys passed that test at Hampden, the defense gave a poor and detrimental performance. Regardless of the events that have transpired throughout the city, Rodgers must keep his team focused and motivated for this last push.

This Sunday, the narrative moves to Dundee, a location that can be challenging. It requires complete concentration.
