CBS Philadelphia, PA During hosting an event last week at the University of Cincinnati, Jason Kelce lost his Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl ring in a puddle of chili, he said on his podcast “New Heights” on Wednesday.
A while back, Kelce, along with his brother Travis, hosted a live podcast at Cincinnati during the Great “Lombaby” Games, which were a series of Olympic-style events for students at Cincy. Kelce had previously revealed on the podcast that he had lost his Super Bowl ring. The event’s announcers and referees were Jason and Travis Kelce.
According to Jason Kelce, one of those tasks had Bearcat pupils looking for two rings like Super Bowls inside socks in various pools of chili. The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in the 2017 season to win their first-ever Super Bowl, and Kelce had one imitation ring while the other was his.
Although Jason Kelce’s real Super Bowl ring was located, it was a replica.
“I don’t know if Travis knows this, but I legitimately lost my Super Bowl ring in this event,” Jason Kelce stated. “They couldn’t find it.”
The following day, people looked within the chili for the ring, but they were unsuccessful. To aid in the hunt, they even utilized a metal detector, although that was unsuccessful as well.
Three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs expressed shock that Jason lost it and he wasn’t holding back on the podcast.
“What did you expect to happen?” stated Travis Kelce. “You’re such a [expletive] imbecile.”
“So I think we safely assume that my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill somewhere in the Cincinnati tri-state area,” Jason Kelce said.
So what happens next?
Jason Kelce said he already filed an insurance claim for the ring, but it’s unclear if he’ll be able to get another one made.
“Guess we’re going to find out,” Jason Kelce said.
