Perhaps Tottenham Hotspur has just received a major lift ahead of this weekend’s crucial match against Aston Villa.

The team led by Ange Postecoglou is aware that victory would drastically alter the dynamics of the chase for fourth place.
With a game remaining, Spurs behind Villa by five points at the moment. At the absolute least, they must win on Sunday.

That being said, even though Pedro Porro is still doubtful for the game, Postecoglou’s Tottenham team is in a good injury situation at the moment.

Additionally, it’s possible that Richarlison will play for Tottenham against Aston Villa, despite what some people may have believed.

Journalist Alasdair Gold stated on the “Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham” podcast that Richarlison would have a chance when Tottenham plays Aston Villa on Sunday. Richarlison could make a comeback to the team.

After the news emerged, Gold said, there had been a lot of various timelines given to the injury. Taking everything into account, Gold believed that an appearance versus Villa wasn’t out of the question.

“I’m curious to see when he recovers from his injury, because that was one of the major things from the weekend as well,” the man remarked.

“Every single person involved was telling us something completely different.

“Postecoglou told us three to four weeks in the press conference ahead of the game, Richarlison’s knee injury was going to keep him out.

“Then he told, he did a Spurs club interview which went out just, we saw it after the press conference had finished, in that he said two to three weeks.

“Then the Brazil manager later that day picked Richarlison in his Brazil squad and said he’ll be back next week.

“Then Richarlison said after the game to a Brazilian journalist from ESPN, ‘Oh I’m pretty much back in training now i’ll be back hopefully next week’ – which he’s then apparently told this Fred guy as well I think.

He then summarised: “I wouldn’t be stunned if we saw Richarlion on the bench at Villa Park, I don’t think that’s out of this world by the way people are talking.

“But then again we’ve also had a lot of players who think they are way further ahead than they are – often with international duty coming up as well to kind of prove a point.”

Hopefully…

Of course, having “magnificent” Richarlison back for a crucial match against Aston Villa would be a tremendous advantage for Tottenham.

Alongside captain Son Heung-Min, players like Timo Werner and Dejan Kulusevski are playing well, but the £50 million Brazilian frequently injects some unexpected brilliance into the mix.

Having said that, Brennan Johnson, who is also showing himself to be a difference maker, might also merit a chance to begin.

Spurs supporters will be hoping for a victory in any case to increase their prospects of qualifying for the Champions League again the following year.
