Nottingham Forest have asked Arsenal about signing Aaron Ramsdale before the window shuts tonight.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in desperate need of a new goalkeeper and they have been linked with plenty of players recently. Arsenal star Ramsdale’s name is the latest to come out of the rumour mill.

Nottingham Forest have asked about signing Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal

Nottingham Forest are in a very difficult position with respect to goalkeepers.

The Reds have Arsenal old-boy Matt Turner and Odysseas Vlachodimos between the sticks, but neither have done enough at the City Ground so far.

The American was at fault once again when the Gunners beat them earlier this week. He made a meal of Gabriel Jesus’ strike, and that helped Arsenal win the game.

Forest are now looking to sign a new goalkeeper today.

They have made a bid for Koen Casteels and tried twice to sign Sam Johnstone. Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher is also someone they’ve looked at.

Another goalkeeper they have approached to sign today is Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal, claims The Athletic’s Daniel Taylor on X.

He tweeted: “NFFC goalkeeper hunt. Bid for Koen Casteels at Wolfsburg last week. Asked about Aaron Ramsdale, Caoimhin Kelleher and tried twice for Sam Johnstone.

“Rui Silva at Real Betis also approached. Latest is Matz Sels at Strasbourg but still other options.”

Ramsdale has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal. He is behind David Raya now, and it seems extremely unlikely that he will win his place back.

The England goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from Arsenal, with Football Transfers claiming a couple of months ago that the Gunners will sell him if they get £50 million.

It’s highly unlikely that Forest will bid such a huge amount of money for Ramsdale today, and even if they do, we can’t see Arsenal accepting it this late in the window.

Ramsdale is, however, expected to leave the Gunners in the summer.
