As the competition to recruit Bryan Gil heats up in the last days of the transfer window, journalist Ben Jacobs has stated that Burnely is a team to watch.

After Tottenham signed Timo Werner earlier this month, Gil’s chances of seeing the field have further decreased, and Manor Solomon is reportedly getting near to recovering from his injury (Telegraph).

Therefore, it is not shocking that the winger is being connected to leaving Hotspur Way on another loan before the deadline of February 1.

Over the past few weeks, it has been widely rumored that Lazio is considering making a move for the 22-year-old (Quotidiano Sportivo). However, it has now come to light that Premier League teams are also showing interest in the youngster.

In reality, on January 25, the print version of Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) disclosed that Brighton and Brentford had already begun talks with Spurs about a short-term contract for the Spaniard.

Move to Burnley on the cards for Bryan Gil?

Jacobs has now stated that Gil is certainly being considered by Tottenham, but he has also stated that there is currently “nothing advanced” with Lazio.

It’s interesting that the journalist mentioned Burnley as a team to monitor along with Fenerbahce as potential suitors for the Spurs star’s signature.

“With Gil, there is a willingness to listen to offers, Fenerbahce are keen, so another Turkish move, nothing advanced with Lazio,” Jacobs said in an interview with The Last Word on the Spurs podcast.

“There are certain recommendations with Lazio that don’t go very far. I would keep a watch on Burnley because some reports indicate that there might be some late Premier League interest.

Gil would be a great fit for Burnley on loan because of the way Vincent Kompany’s team plays. Additionally, the 22-year-old’s chances of playing frequently at Turf Moor are higher than those of the Amex Stadium or the Gtech Community Stadium.
