Emilia Pelgander, a potential Swedish Under-23 international, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Leicester Women.
The 19-year-old central midfielder is coming from KIF Örebro in the Damallsvenskan.
Pelgander said, “I’m really excited and grateful for this opportunity,” in reference to her delight about joining LCFC Women. I had a great time talking about the philosophy and how Leicester plays with the manager during our first conversations, and I think I’ll fit in well here.”
Pelgander has made 22 appearances for Sweden’s Under-19 and Under-23 teams, making him a mainstay in the junior international scene.
In July 2020, she debuted in the league for KIF Örebro, where she spent four years totaling 84 appearances.
After making 25 appearances for KIF Örebro in a noteworthy 2023 season, Pelgander is about to join her new colleagues as Leicester gets ready to play Everton.
Pelgander also provided details about her conversations with manager Willie Kirk, saying, “He likes that I want to improve as a football player and that I’m aggressive and ambitious.”
“To improve myself and hopefully the team with it, the main goal is to get into the team and get as much playing time as I can,” she continued.
