Craig Dawson, a defender for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has acknowledged that it is difficult to turn down the Premier League winners and that he can understand Matheus Nunes’ choice to join Manchester City.
A season after being acquired by Wolves for a club-record £38 million from Sporting Lisbon, Nunes signed with Manchester City on the final day of the transfer window.
The Portuguese midfielder’s exit at the tail end of the recently closed transfer window was a setback to the team because he was essential to the Midlands team’s survival last season.
Dawson, though, understands Nunes’ decision to sign with the Cityzens and claims that it is challenging to refuse the treble winners.
He continued by saying that every player experiences club switching and insisted that Wolves must maintain their attention on the current objective.
According to a remark from Dawson provided to the Express & Star, “It is challenging.
“It is obviously difficult to refuse if Manchester City approaches you about a player.
“As a team, we respected him and paid attention to the game.
“It occurs as a player, and we all wish him the best,” someone said.
“As a squad, we have to stay focused. He’s gone now.”
Wolves have struggled to get going in the Premier League, dropping three of their opening four games. They will look to turn things around after the break.
