Given what manager Erik ten Hag has seen from his players this season, a midfielder is probably part of Manchester United’s summer transfer window.

Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia are showing interest in Christian Eriksen, while INEOS already has plans to let Casemiro go.

At the conclusion of his loan, Sofyan Amrabat is unlikely to secure a permanent contract, and despite Scott Mctominay’s ambitions, he is not the manager’s top choice.

According to a report from Attacking Football, Sheffield United’s Andre Brooks, a rising talent in the Premier League, is the most recent player to be linked to a move to Old Trafford.

The season of Brooks’ breakout

The 20-year-old is in line with INEOS’ goal of bringing in British players, and his recent performances have attracted the attention of United scouts who have tracked him since his days at Bramall Lane academy.

Brooks, a young player from the area, is characterized as press-resistant and capable of using both skill and speed to advance the ball from midfield.

Although he was a winger in the academy, manager Chris Wilder has used him as a center midfielder, a 10 higher up the pitch, and even out wide on the left, demonstrating his versatility.

The youngster has made nine first-team appearances this season, starting the last seven league games on the trot, impressing in the recent 2-2 draw against West Ham United.

United are long-term admirers

The report mentions that United “have been casting an eye over” the young gem but a summer swoop is more likely with the player agreeing a new long-term deal recently which will keep him in Sheffield till 2027.

“We can exclusively reveal that Manchester United have been watching Sheffield United midfielder Andre Brooks.

“The 20-year-old midfielder is appreciated by the club, and they have continued to watch his progress during his time in the academy and his current break into the first team.”

The Blades are bottom of the division and are the favourites to get relegated and a potential deal might become smoother in that case.
