Sources: Following Chelsea’s U-turn, West Ham and Nottingham Forest compete to sign Trevoh Chalobah.

Football Insider has been informed by sources that Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and Fulham are among the teams considering a last-minute transfer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Before the deadline of February 1st, it is thought that European teams are also showing interest in the 24-year-old.
On Friday, January 26, Football Insider reported that Chelsea is now prepared to let Chalobah go on loan over the last few days of the transfer window.

They reversed course from their first plan, which called for selling the defender permanently to increase their revenue, since any center-back transfer would have to be approved by Financial Fair Play regulations.

Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Fulham all have the space in their squad to bring in a loan signing from a fellow Premier League club before the 1 February deadline.

It is believed all three clubs are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements.

Chalobah is yet to appear in the 2023-24 campaign due to injury – and his lack of availability is believed to be the reason for the dearth of permanent interest in his services.

He suffered a serious hamstring injury in pre-season and a setback in October but is now on the comeback trail.

In any case, he will be low down the pecking order of Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge – with the Argentine rating the likes of Axel Disasi, Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile above him.
