According to Football Scotland, Mohamed Diomande from Nordsjaelland could be joining Rangers on Friday, January 26.

On January 25, a Scottish news site stated that Diomande was scheduled to sign a £4.5 million contract with Rangers; however, the impact of Storm Isha in Scotland caused a delay in his arrival in Glasgow.

Later today, official confirmation of the contract could be made public. Typically, club media interviews and traditional scarf photos are conducted prior to the announcement of the deal to fans on social media.

At last, D-Day reaches Ibrox.

Due to his delayed arrival in Glasgow, the initial excitement surrounding this agreement may have subsided a little, but it should pick back up again when the club starts to make the customary allusions prior to an announcement.

All of those who bang the drum of “it’s not done until we see the scarf picture” will be pleased too at the announcement later today officially confirming his move to Ibrox.

The confirmation will bring with it plenty of excitement, and some will hope that that will continue in the latter stages of the transfer window, with Gers pursuing several deals before the deadline as there are still gaps in Philippe Clement’s squad that need filling.

A new left-back and a new striker could both be on the agenda at Ibrox, as well as potential outgoings given the speculation around Ridvan Yilmaz’s future.

But first and foremost the arrival of a new midfielder in Diomande will mark the first permanent signing of the winter window at Ibrox.
