According to reports, Aston Villa is looking at signing Middlesbrough forward Morgan Rogers.

The 21-year-old merely moved to the Riverside during the summer transfer window, paying an undisclosed amount to leave Manchester City. Under Pep Guardiola, he had few opportunities and had been on loan at Lincoln City, AFC Bournemouth, and Blackpool.

Only six months into his Middlesbrough career, Rogers is apparently drawing interest from Premier League teams. The BBC reports that Unai Emery, the manager of Villa, is a fan of the former England youth international.

Villa are said to be weighing up a move, although the report claims it may depend on the movement of others players in the window.

Meanwhile, according to The Guardian, Villa had two bids for Rogers rejected. The Premier League team’s “lowball” approaches are rumored to have left Middlesbrough cold.

Rogers has made 31 appearances for Middlesbrough across all competitions, tallying six goals. He recently played in Middlesbrough’s FA Cup loss at the Riverside versus Villa.

Middlesbrough has not sent anyone away permanently, although they have approved two exits in the window thus far. On loan, Hayden Coulson joined Blackpool, while Jack Stott moved temporarily to Gateshead.
