“Sunderland’s Managerial Twist: Michael Beale Hired Last Month, But Insider Reveals He Wasn’t the Club’s Initial First-Choice”

Last month, Sunderland took a risk by firing Tony Mowbray.

Although the Black Cats were sixth on the Championship table, there was a feeling that something needed to change for the team to advance, both in the short and long terms.

Even though many felt that Mowbray’s dismissal was premature, the team’s ruthlessness was partially commended, and they provided themselves an opportunity to outline their vision with the hiring of an exciting new player.

Then Beale showed up as a pretty disappointing appointment following a week or so of reports connecting a few individuals to the Stadium of Light.

Now that he has presided over five Championship games for Sunderland, the team is in seventh place in the standings, having earned seven points out of a possible fifteen.

Will Still was Sunderland’s first choice, not Michael Beale.

According to a developing story from The Telegraph, Beale was really Sunderland’s second-choice candidate, behind Reims manager Will Still.

The 31-year-old English-Belgian coach has gained recognition in France and was strongly connected to the Sunderland position just a month ago.
