Nottingham Forest ‘may return’ a player following a summer effort – Club working to make it easy to leave

After failing to recruit Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez this summer, Nottingham Forest ‘may return’ for him.Guido Rodriguez: who is the Liverpool and Arsenal target?

According to Estadio Deportivo, if they make another approach for the Argentine, both he and Betis may be more receptive to a deal.

According to the newspaper, the midfielder has not yet decided on his next step in his career, which means he has not ruled out leaving Betis, possibly as soon as January.

He had alternatives to leave this summer, like he did last summer, and Nottingham Forest were one of the clubs interested in him while Steve Cooper’s team was being built.

He decided against a move as he is comfortable and feels valued in Heliópolis, while his wife, Guadalupe, is pregnant and he doesn’t want to disturb her or the rest of his family at this time.

That will have changed by next year, though, and Betis would be more than happy to sell for a figure of €15m, despite him being valued at double that. The Spanish side only own 70% of the midfielder as it is.

Indeed, Estadio have been able to discover that there are efforts being made within the club to sign Rodriguez to a new deal with a release clause included for July next year.

This would allow the athlete to dramatically increase his earnings this season while also allowing him to make the move he desires next year in an arrangement that benefits everyone. His agents have yet to respond to those intentions, and the player is currently focused on international duty with Argentina.

Following that, it will be time to focus on the season and what lies ahead, with it being speculated that Nottingham Forest and Barcelona ‘may return to the fray for him’.

They’d have to wait until next summer, especially given his wife’s pregnancy, but Rodriguez is a name to keep an eye on anyway.
