Nottingham Forest is one of the clubs that Jorge Mendes has recommended to his client, Gio Reyna.

Gio Reyna had heard word of forests.

It seems like Mendes has been tasked with bringing in a few new players for Forest this month.

One of his main tasks this month, according to ESPN, is to locate Dortmund’s young player Reyna a team where he can play regular games.

The article mentions a number of teams, from Marseille and Benfica in Europe to Wolves and Forest in the Premier League. Mendes is rumored to have discussed moving to Forest to be closer to Reyna while he considers his options.

Reyna is going to be available for around £13 million this month and he will want to play regularly wherever he goes.

The 2023/24 season has proven to be a source of frustration for the talented youngster, who has only started once in the Bundesliga and is set to be out of contract with Dortmund in the summer of 2025.

Gio Reyna, born in Sunderland and the son of former player Claudio Reyna, emerged from the Dortmund youth academy after joining from New York City in 2019. Known for his versatility, Reyna typically operates as a number 10 or on the wing.

Despite a challenging season with only 33 goal contributions in 119 appearances, the Forest-linked Reyna, a regular for the USA national team with 24 appearances and seven goals, is now contemplating a potential move.

Rumors suggest a likelihood of 8/10 for a move to Forest, with hopes that Reyna can replicate the impact seen with Anthony Elanga. Elanga, formerly with Manchester United, experienced improved stats at Forest, boasting 10 goal contributions.

As the transfer window unfolds, the potential transfer of Reyna to Forest remains a compelling narrative to monitor.
