Alexander Isak has been linked to Arsenal, and according to Alan Shearer, the coaches at Newcastle United are drawing comparisons between him and Thierry Henry.
Newcastle’s chief executive, Darren Eales, recently hinted that in order to finance moves for their main targets, his team could need to transfer one of its finest players. Their star player is Isak, and Shearer adores the Swede.

Eighteen months ago, Newcastle United paid £63 million to purchase Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad (Sky Sports).
The Swede quickly won over the hearts of the St. James’ Park crowd. He’s adored by many on Tyneside, especially Alan Shearer, the Geordie great.
This week, Isak was interviewed by the Englishman, who is well-versed in scoring goals, and he appeared to have enjoyed every second of it.
Before disclosing that the Newcastle United coaching staff thinks Isak is more like Arsenal icon Thierry Henry than his compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he declared his affection for the player.
Shearer said in The Athletic: “I love Isak, not just because of who he plays for or the position he plays in, or his excellent record of 23 goals in 36 starts in all competitions, but because of how he does it.
“As a kid — he’s still only 24 — he was inevitably compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, another Swedish legend, but the comparison they make within Newcastle’s coaching staff is to Thierry Henry.
“That gorgeous, fluid movement, that languid grace, that blistering pace—you can see it in that.”

Football Transfers claimed earlier this month that Arsenal, who were keen to sign Alexander Isak before he joined Newcastle, are still big fans of the Swede.
The Gunners have had an awful time in front of goal. They’ve won just one of their last seven games in all competitions and it really does seem like their forwards have forgotten how to score.
Almost everyone is urging Arsenal to sign a new striker – either this month or in the summer – and if Isak is available, he would be a tremendous addition to this Gunners side.
It will be interesting to see how much Newcastle will demand for Isak if they are forced to sell him at some point this year.
