Michael Olise had four goals and an assist in his past four appearances for the club, but he will miss tonight’s FA Cup match due to a hamstring injury.

Roy Hodgson reveals Michael Olise is ‘upset’ after suffering another injury in the weekend triumph against Brentford. He will now miss tonight’s FA Cup match against Everton and is questionable for the next league game.

The Palace manager also intimated that his injury might be more serious than first thought, admitting he did not know how long he would be out. “As you probably saw in the game against Brentford, Michael Olise had to come off right at the end,” he told reporters ahead of the encounter against Everton. He felt his hamstring strain during the game’s last sprint. Unfortunately for us, he will not be participating in this game.

“We’ll have to nurse him through and hope he gets back as soon as possible. For how long is he out? I can’t answer that one I’m afraid.

“[His character] is good. We’re hoping that this one is going to be nothing like the one that put him out of the game for nearly six months. We don’t think or hope it’s going to be like that.

“It is another little setback that I’m sure he and we would not have liked. After his last two performances, which were so good, we were hoping he’d be stepping out tomorrow and treating us again to another great football exhibition.

“He’s a bit upset that that can’t happen and as are we, but let’s not put too much of a dampener on what’s going to happen going forward. There’s plenty of games left to play in this season, we’ve got another 18 league matches to play, and we’re hoping he’s going to be there to help us.”

The Eagles will also be without Jordan Ayew, who has left for Ghana to compete in the AFCON. Ayew has been an important element of the club this season, and his absence will necessitate a team effort to compensate if the Eagles are to advance in the FA Cup and climb the league table.
