SITUATION OF BEALE ON BURSTOW

“I haven’t engaged in discussions regarding Burstow’s future yet; since I’ve just taken over, I’m assessing the players. Mason was given an opportunity from the bench at Rotherham, and I also brought young Eliezer in against Coventry City last week.

I’m observing the players during training, as it’s my first time working with them. The fact that our recruited strikers haven’t scored has been a topic of discussion. As the transfer window opens, we’ll assess our options. Currently, my focus is on training, working with them to enhance their goal-scoring capabilities.

There’s ongoing effort behind the scenes with the strikers, and it’s evident that as a team, we need to convert possession into more shots and subsequently more goals. Despite having the highest expected goals in the league before my arrival, it’s crucial to translate that into actual goals on the scoreboard.

My objective is to turn possession into shots that find the back of the net. In our recent away game at Rotherham, we faced challenges, but we still maintained 70 percent possession. I expect us to challenge the goalkeeper more and alleviate some of the scoring burden on Jack Clarke, who is currently in excellent form.”
