West Ham may accept a loan-to-buy bid for Said Benrahma, according to sources

According to Football Insider, West Ham are willing to let Said Benrahma go on a loan-to-buy deal in the forthcoming January window.

The 27-year-old winger has slid down the pecking order at the London Stadium and is expected to leave next month in search of first-team action. It is understood that West Ham have set an asking price of around £15-20million for Benrahma next month.

They are, however, willing to accept a loan-to-buy deal in order to provide clubs the option of paying Benrahma’s fee in the summer.

Benrahma has piqued the curiosity of many French and Saudi Pro League clubs, according to Football Insider on Sunday (31 December). The Hammers are willing to accept bids for the winger in order to boost their transfer budget.

Benrahma has struggled to nail down a spot in West Ham’s starting lineup this season with the Algerian winger playing just 542 minutes of league football in 2023/24 so far. The summer arrival of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax and the form of Lucas Paqueta out wide has left no space in David Moyes’ plans for Benrahma, who has had to settle for a rotation role this season.

West Ham signed Benrahma on loan from Brentford in 2020 before completing a permanent deal for the winger worth £25million in 2021.

He has appeared in 153 games for the Irons, scoring 24 goals and assisting 19 times across all competitions.

Benrahma was also instrumental in West Ham’s Europa Conference League victory, appearing 11 times during their run to the final before scoring against Fiorentina to help hoist the title.
