According to journalist Alan Nixon, Ipswich Town’s compensation clause in Kieran McKenna’s contract would not deter Crystal Palace or Brighton from signing him.

McKenna has been making waves at Portman Road this season after leading Ipswich up from League One to the Championship. The boss has Ipswich fighting for automatic promotion up to the Premier League and his exploits have boosted his stock.

Crystal Palace are considering him as the successor to Roy Hodgson as they ideally look to change managers in the summer. Brighton are also keen on McKenna in the event they have to replace Roberto De Zerbi.

If McKenna is enticed away, Ipswich could be entitled to compensation of approximately £4 million. While that is a significant money, it would not be enough to deter either Brighton or Palace.

McKenna is unlikely to quit Ipswich given that he is leading a promotion campaign, but the Tractor Boys might lose him in the summer.
