Representatives of Valentín Barco have already spoken with Brighton and Hove Albion as they consider making another approach for the young player.

TyC Sports claims that in the upcoming weeks, the defender will rise to the position of most valuable player in Argentina.

They clarify that, based on data produced by websites like Transfermarkt, Barco is expected to become the most highly regarded player in the nation following the revelation that Uruguayan Nicolás de la Cruz is expected to leave for Flamengo in the coming weeks.

He is currently valued at approximately €13.3m, closely followed by fellow Argentine youngster Claudio Echeverri at around €12m. TyC examines Barco’s uncertain future, which began in the summer when Brighton initially expressed interest.

The report highlights that Barco has been a target for European clubs for a while, and Brighton made two offers mid-year, but they were rejected as Barco aimed to participate in the Copa Libertadores. Now, with no continental competition in sight for Boca, Brighton has decided to renew their pursuit.

While no new offers have been made, Brighton has already held discussions with Barco’s representative about a potential transfer. Although Barco has a €10m release clause, slightly below his valuation, Boca is looking to renew and enhance his contract. The outcome remains uncertain, and developments are expected in the coming weeks.
