Over the past 18 months, Willian has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most unexpected players.

We all believed Willian was finished as a winger when he returned to Brazil because of the way he looked against the Gunners.

Willian also did not have much of an impact at Corinthians, so many were surprised when he joined for Fulham on the final day of the 2022 transfer window.

But since joining Fulham, the winger has gone back in time. Alex Iwobi, speaking to Football Focus, praised the attacker, who is currently among the Whites’ most valuable and gifted players.

Willian is really intelligent and Joy to watch

Iwobi mentioned a teammate.

“We are one of the oldest teams in the Premier League, which helps in that regard. Willian is still moving like he is 21. Pereira, when he has the ball, you can run and know he is going to find us. Raul had a difficult beginning, but we knew it was only a matter of time,” Iwobi remarked.

You can just tell he is a step above everyone else at the club when he is performing at his best.

He is a technical marvel, which is why he spent so many years at the pinnacle of our sport. We may not have seen a player at Craven Cottage with such quality since Dimitar Berbatov.

Even though Willian is 35 years old and clearly cannot continue indefinitely, we can not help but enjoy him while he still has a lot left in him.
