When Rangers welcomes St Johnstone to Ibrox for their Scottish Premiership match, they will be ecstatic.

On Wednesday, December 20, the league match will take place in Glasgow under the lights, only a few days after the Gers won the Viaplay Cup.

Because several of his top players need a break, manager Philippe Clement will surely make alterations to his starting lineup for that exact reason.

One such player is Ross McCausland, a winger who started and participated in seventy-four minutes of the team’s 1-0 victory at Hampden Park over the Dons.

When allocating seats on the bench versus St Johnstone, Clement should prioritize McCausland due to his recent on-field performance and his young age of twenty years old.

Furthermore, the manager has several capable choices to replace the young player right away, with Scott Wright and Rabbi Matondo being the top candidates.

Considering McCausland’s most recent accomplishment—being awarded the club’s Men’s Player of the Month for November—the prospective axe from the man in the Ibrox dugout may sound harsh [official Rangers website, 19 December].

Though Rangers sense a genuine chance to build on their strong start and get closer to league leaders Celtic at the top of the standings, it is unquestionably the right course of action.

The dynamic winger has plenty of time to accrue more games in the future since he recently inked a long-term deal at Ibrox.
