Willian secured victory for his team by converting two second-half penalties, including the stoppage-time decider. Despite Wolves’ sixth loss in 13 Premier League games, defender Kilman believed they deserved more from the match at Craven Cottage. Expressing frustration over what he saw as questionable VAR decisions, Kilman stated, “When we equalized, we wanted to win the game, but some decisions shouldn’t have gone against us, making it tough to take. We’re sticking to O’Neil’s game-plan, and he’s doing a great job. We just need to keep listening and doing it.”

In particular, VAR interventions, including the late spot-kick decision, Joao Gomes’ challenge on Harry Wilson, and the awarding of the first Fulham penalty for Nelson Semedo’s challenge on Tom Cairney, left visiting boss Gary O’Neil perplexed. O’Neil also highlighted incidents involving Carlos Vinicius’ alleged headbutt on Kilman and Tim Ream avoiding a second yellow card for a foul on Hwang Hee-chan. The cumulative effect of these events left Kilman and the team disheartened despite their efforts on the field.
