According to Leeds United president Angel Haro, a return to Real Betis is ‘not on the table’ for defender Junior Firpo.

Los Verdiblancos have already rescued one Leeds United player, bringing former Espanyol star Marc Roca back to Spain after the club’s relegation in 2022/23, but would they do it again with Junior Firpo?

Evidently not.

Angel Haro, according to Comuniate, insists that Leeds’ £13 million left-back is not presently being considered by Real Betis, despite happy memories at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Firpo, after all, made his La Liga debut four years ago at Betis.

Junior Firpo’s future at Leeds United is questionable.

“The list (of potential full-back signings) is short,” says Haro. “I’ve never heard that name before. Firpo is a player we really like.” He is a young Betis player. But, as I already stated, he is not on the table.”

Firpo has only featured twice for Leeds in the Championship this season, with Sam Byram filling in admirably. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old’s contract is set to expire in just over 18 months. As a result, Leeds may be unwilling to stand in his way if Firpo is offered the chance to start his career elsewhere.
