Everton and Crystal Palace are keeping an eye on Leicester City’s Kasey McAteer.

The Toffees are currently in search of a winger for the January transfer window, with their focus now on a 22-year-old player. The Foxes are optimistic about extending the contract of this attacker, whose current terms expire in 2025. However, there’s information suggesting that Everton and other Premier League clubs are contemplating a move for the young player. Palace, on the other hand, is in need of a versatile attacker capable of playing on both flanks, and they see McAteer as a suitable candidate.

Sources indicate that McAteer’s decision may be influenced by Everton’s league position. He aspires to play in the Premier League and is reluctant to join a club that might face relegation to the Championship. Despite enjoying his time at Leicester during their promotion push, it is believed that any potential move may occur during the summer transfer window rather than midway through the current season.

McAteer, who progressed through the Leicester City academy, made his first-team debut in the 2021-22 season. After loan spells with Forest Green Rovers and AFC Wimbledon, he has become a key contributor to the team, scoring five goals in nine Championship appearances this term.

This development follows comments from Sean Dyche after his team’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United, urging his players to deliver ‘winning performances’ for the fans. Additionally, Everton fans protested the severity of their 10-point deduction, a consequence of breaching profit and sustainability rules, during the game against Manchester United.
