Next Republic of Ireland manager: Several well-known people have been associated with the job of managing the Republic of Ireland national team.

Although Bruce is one of the candidates apparently being examined for the post, former Sunderland manager Roy Keane has been named the bookies’ favorite. Neil Lennon, Sam Allardyce, and Lee Carsley have also been mentioned as possible candidates.

Bruce has also mentioned the potential of becoming yet another high-profile name to relocate to Saudi Arabia. The 63-year-old also revealed that he has received offers to return to management since leaving the Baggies, but has yet to make a decision.

Bruce, who managed his 1000th match as a manager against Tottenham Hotspur in his final game as Newcastle United manager, has been heavily linked with the job of Republic of Ireland manager since the Football Association of Ireland announced Stephen Kenny’s departure. Bruce is said to be one of the candidates to succeed Kenny and has shown a desire to coach a national team.

“I’ve stated before that I’d like to get back into management, but I find speculation when a manager is in place to be very disrespectful,” Bruce added. The present manager had a tremendous game against New Zealand, and hearing rumors regarding his dismissal is really disrespectful. I’ve been there before.

“I’m looking to get back into football, whether it’s as an international, a director of football, an assistant to a young manager, or a consulting role.” I’m open to anything because I miss playing the game. At my age, international management would be appealing, but I find speculation disrespectful while a manager is in place. When the manager post becomes available, they can contact me.”

“Many people have asked me if I’d go to Saudi Arabia, and the simple answer is that I’m not going to reveal anything,” he stated. I’ve recently rejected down a lot of clubs because I didn’t believe they were quite right. I’m open to taking a job abroad if the opportunity arises.

“I think revealing the clubs who were interested in me would be very disrespectful – so I won’t.”
