Reading’s off-field problems persist as Kieran Maguire has slammed Ken Anderson after he was connected with a Reading takeover.

The Royals’ problems are well known, as they were relegated previous season as a result of a points deduction. Furthermore, they have already received a four-point punishment this season, leaving them at the bottom of the standings and facing relegation.

Reading has failed to pay an HMRC tax bill on time, implying that further issues are on the way. As a result, fans are desperate for a takeover and have been demonstrating on a regular basis for some time in order to force Dai Yongge out of the club.

Ken Anderson is expressing interest in acquiring Reading

Despite the challenges left by Yongge, Reading is seeking a responsible new owner for the club’s progression. The Telegraph has reported Ken Anderson, the former Bolton chief, as one of the individuals keen on purchasing the club, raising concerns among other parties.

“Former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and Genevra Associates, an investment group in Luxembourg, have made offers, while there are suggestions of interest from American investors, and a party linked to Ken Anderson, the ex-chairman of Bolton Wanderers.”

Who is Ken Anderson?

As previously stated, the 71-year-old has already been involved in the game, and it’s fair to say he doesn’t have the best track record, having overseen the Trotters’ demise as they slid down the leagues due to financial mismanagement.

Along with Bolton’s difficulties, a number of Anderson’s other enterprises have failed.

That past caused financial expert Maguire to take to social media to discuss the possibility of Anderson taking control, citing Forest Green owner Dale Vince, who described him as a “rogue chairman, a slippery character, and untrustworthy.”

“Reading fans, be afraid, be very afraid if Ken Anderson is involved at your club.” He was previously barred from serving as a corporate director for an eight-year period.”

It’s a bad moment to be a Reading supporter, as the club is struggling both on and off the field.

In the long run, it’s all about getting Yongge out of the club, but as previously stated, they need the appropriate owner to come in and ensure their future success.

So, the fact that there is a lot of curiosity is a good thing, and they are hoping for some significant news as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Ruben Selles must aim to generate results because, while the off-field concerns are undoubtedly a distraction, the reality is that he should be doing better with the group at his disposal.
