According to Calciomercato, AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur aren’t working together too much to sign Eric Dier.

Dier’s Tottenham contract expires in the summer of next year, and it has been widely reported in the past few weeks that Roma and Sporting Lisbon are interested in signing him in January (Mirror).

Actually, according to a few Italian rumors in recent weeks, Jose Mourinho has made the Tottenham player his top target and has even contacted the Englishman about moving to the Stadio Olimpico (TMW).

But as Football Insider revealed a few days ago, Ange Postecoglou would only approve Dier’s exit if another center-back showed up in January, following the injury to Micky van de Ven.

Roma face a roadblock in attempts to land Eric Dier

Following Van van Ven’s injury, CalcioMercato has now reported that Roma has encountered some “resistance” from Tottenham, with the Premier League team exhibiting a decreased desire to conduct business.

The source claims that the Giallorossi have now decided on Jakub Kiwior of Arsenal as a replacement since Spurs were reluctant to approve Dier’s departure.
