According to Michail Antonio, West Ham has made some “big mistakes” recently following a string of underwhelming Premier League performances.

Before Sunday’s (12 November) match against Nottingham Forest, the Jamaican international spoke on the Hammers website, stating that there has been a “downturn” in the team’s performances following a “bit of a slump.”

The 33-year-old went on to say that the Irons are “not worried or threatened” because they are confident in their ability to turn the corner.

“Our current form isn’t a major concern,” Antonio expressed. “This season has had its share of highs and lows, and we’re definitely going through a tough patch. It’s part of our West Ham journey. I’ve been here for nine years, and we’ve always found a way to bounce back. We’ll hit a winning streak and regain our top form.

“Since our strong start, performances have dipped, and we’ve faced a rough period, making significant errors that cost us victories.

“But we’re confident in our ability to overcome this. This weekend marks a fresh start. There’s no fear or worry; we have full faith in the quality of our players.”

The experienced West Ham squad likely feels confident in their ability to string together a successful streak in the coming weeks. The recent month has been notably disheartening following a strong start to the season. Initially, there was optimism about contending for European positions, but performance declines have altered those expectations.

This dip in form has sparked discussions about David Moyes’ future at the London Stadium, and there’s speculation that the technical director, Tim Steidten, is compiling a list of potential new managers.

The upcoming international break offers a chance for everyone to regroup, refocus, and strategize for a return to form in a couple of weeks.
