If Leicester City comes calling for Wilfred Ndidi, they ought to consider this Tottenham Hotspur player.

It appears that Leicester City will face difficulty holding onto midfield player Wilfred Ndidi in January.

The 26-year-old was perhaps one player that Leicester fans didn’t anticipate seeing in a Leicester uniform when the summer transfer market closed.

Ndidi was a standout player for the Foxes in the Premier League who was formerly connected to a number of elite teams.

He did, however, carry on at King Power Stadium, where he has stayed ever since they were demoted to the Championship.

However, the midfield player is nearing the end of his contract with the team, so it appears Leicester will have to fight hard to keep him around for the rest of the season as well as January.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are both eager to capture the Nigerian international during the next transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

Although it’s not ideal for Leicester, they might be smart to ask Spurs for Oliver Skipp in exchange if a trade were to go through.

Who is Oliver Skipp?

Before being promoted to the first squad, Skipp progressed through Tottenham’s academy, where he made an impression in the under-18 and under-23 teams.

With the exception of one season, when he went on loan to Norwich City for the 2020–21 campaign, the 23-year-old has played football at Spurs his whole career.

The Englishman has made 90 first-team appearances for Spurs so far, representing the team in a variety of competitions over the years.

He has contributed two assists and one goal to the club’s total during that time, mostly in a defensive capacity.

Leicester has completed a trade deal with Spurs in the summer, so the Foxes should take advantage of Skipp’s circumstances if the teams were to team up for Ndidi in January.

Premier League 63 1 0
Championship 45 1 2
Premier League 2 22 1 2

Why should Leicester City suggest Tottenham Hotspur’s Oliver Skipp in exchange for Wilfried Ndidi?

For the most of the previous season, Skipp established himself as a mainstay in the Tottenham starting lineup, making 23 Premier League appearances—his highest total to date.

That was accomplished when Spurs had several managers, but Skipp’s playing time has decreased since the London team appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new manager in the summer.

With the exception of the first game, where he started, the Spurs player has only made eight appearances overall this season in all competitions; seven of those appearances have been in the Premier League.

Spurs might consider making a move for Skipp, either on a loan or a permanent basis, if they are serious about their interest in Ndidi. It appears that he is not given much of a chance under Postecoglou.
