Rangers may have competition to acquire Brighton star Abdallah Sima permanently, but they will look into the prospect of doing so, sources informed Football Insider.

Since joining Ibrox on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window, the 22-year-old has made an impression and is drawing interest from a number of other teams.

In 2021, Brighton reportedly paid Slavia Prague £7 million to acquire the winger.

After struggling through difficult times at Angers and Stoke City in recent years, the Seagulls were eager for him to play consistent first-team football in a top league.

Although he hasn’t yet played for the South Coast team, he still has a contract with Amex Stadium through June 2025.

After the 2023–24 season, Rangers might have fierce competition for Sima from other European teams.

Despite his lack of consistency as a starter this season, he has scored nine goals in his 17 appearances in all competitions for Rangers.

The 22-year-old has scored four goals in his previous three outings in the Scottish Premiership.

Sima was called up to Aliou Cisse’s Senegal senior team earlier this month, which was his first since September 2021, according to his performance.

If the winger is selected for the African Cup of Nations squad, he may miss as much as six games in the upcoming season.

The Scottish Premiership’s next matchup pits Sima and Rangers against Hearts on Sunday, October 29.

On Thursday, October 26, Philippe Clement’s second game as manager concluded in a 0-0 tie with Sparta Prague in the Europa League.
